Oracle Apps is not opening in Vista

Oracle apps will not open directly in Vista OS.

Cause: jvm.dll which will come with Jinitiator 1.3.x.x  will not support Vista OS

Solution:  download(from google) and install JRE 1.5.0_10 or above even 1.6 works 

Click here to download JRE latest version and jvm.dll

you can directly repalce downloaded jvm.dll with Jinitiator dll or you can install JRE and do the same as following

Copy the jvm.dll from 

x:\xxx\Java\jre1.x.x_x\bin\client\jvm.dll

to 

x:\xxx\Oracle\Jinitiator 1.3.1.x\bin\hotspot\jvm.dll

example x:\xxx == C:\ProgramFiles

after that restart/reboot the system and try to open the Oracle apps

it may works for other Jinitiator versions also... :) 

Oracle SQL standard tables information to practice at Home

After installing oracle 9i/10g at your home PC standard oracle tables information will not available to practice as per Oracle standard SQL material.

Eg: after installing try to run this query

select * from employees;

it won't fetch any records because these tables inforamtion not created in home data base.

Solution:

Please follow the below steps to get standard data in your home data base...

1. Download the files attached below and save it in your PC

2. Login to SQL * Plus (login should have DDL and DML privilages to create tables and update)

3. Execute downloaded files in SQL * Plus using below commands

@pathname ( if you placed files in 'C' drive path name will be 'c:\SQL_Practice_TAB.sql')

and press 'Enter'.

4. Verify the tables information whether it got created or not

Note: In below attachment two files will be there execute first 'SQL_Practice_TAB.sql' and after that next one. Do let me know if you have any issues... :)

By double click drive is going to search Page

When you trying to open any drive if it is going to search page please do below steps

Cause: problem is bacause of virus.

Solution:

1. Run xp_drive_association_fix.reg file, get the file from below link

2. Open 'My Computer', go to Tools--> Folder Options--> File Types tab

select drive, click on 'Advance', you will find in edit file type window

click on new, give action name as open and click on browse

go to 'Windows' folder select explorer.exe, 

make open as 'default' option.
